NICOSIA – The island’s two appointed negotiators on UN-brokered Cyprus peace talks on Tuesday agreed in principle to have a leaders’ meeting towards the end of the month.
This is what a statement from the UN mission in Nicosia said after a meeting between Greek Cypriot negotiator Andreas Mavroyiannis and his Turkish Cypriot counterpart Kudret Özersay.

The statement also said: “They held substantive discussions on issues connected to different chapters. The negotiators agreed to continue these discussions at their next meeting on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 in the United Nations Protected Area”.
Stalled peace talks aiming to reunite the divided island resumed on February 11 after President Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglu agreed on a joint communiqué highlighting the key principles of a federated Cyprus.
